Our Approach
The Drive
The word *exuberance* comes from words that mean 'abundant' and 'life-giving.' When we are open to wonder and experience powerful sensations and feelings, we are experiencing an abundance of joy and flooding our bodies with good things. In the midst of these feelings, we want to share them. And we can have them *every day* and more than once in a day. It's a way of seeing the wonder in our lives and celebrating it as we live. I am driven to share that way of seeing and living. We all have a hunger for and capacity to find and experience this wonder -- so this is about us.
Our Story
My Story
When I was nine I developed a blood infection that led to two months in intensive care; and when I was eleven my younger sister died. Overwhelmed by those experiences, I put all I had to give into anything that challenged my body and mind. Living this way -- entirely in the moment -- opened my eyes to wonder that I could never fully recall. I found that I could do a thing again and still feel all the exuberance of the first time. A few years ago around New Year's day, it came to me that all the different ways I'd found for seeing wonder could be brought together under one idea: living exuberantly.
Meet JP
JP's professional bio is on the main page. Here is the more personal stuff: he is a tuba player, has recited poetry in competition (Dr. Seuss), drives and sings exuberantly, reads widely in philosophy and social criticism and science fiction, enjoys hearing cool stories, cooks with more abandon than he drives (luckily), and begins each day celebrating the wonderful people and things in his life.
